Garlic is also known as लसूण in Marathi & लहसुन in hindi.
Desi Garlic is an indigenous variety. This cloves are small, fragrant and have a sharp taste. This means you ought to use in less proportion as compared to regular lasun available in market. No chemicals, pesticides or anything is used in the garlic farming. Moreover, this is desi meaning indian roots (ancient roots, not hybrid)
We have 2 varieties of Garlic : This one is white and the other one is pink. While pink desi garlic is more potent that the white one, this too is a good choice as it is rich in nutrients as well as is easy on pocket.
We suggest using the garlic peels as they are rich in antioxidants too. Just wash the whole lasun and pound it along with the peels, this way you may add it to your food. It can be roasted, deep fried (tadka) or can be taken raw.
It is a medicinal plant and has different benefits. Some of the benefits are mentioned here:
Can be taken topically also. For Pain and swelling, pound some cloves and apply as a poultice along with other herbs.
Garland: To ward off infections, garlic garland is traditionally used.
Traditionally used to treat earache.
Precautions:
For Pitta dosha or for ones suffering from heat issue, heavy dosage of Lasun should be avoided.
