White Peas सफेद वाटाणा / सफेद मटर

White peas is also known as सफेद वाटाणा / सफेद मटर.

Safed vatana has a creamier texture and nuttier taste. White peas is cultivated by harvesting the pea pods when they are completely mature. When they are dried and skins removed, safed vatana is ready.

If fresh peas is not available or if the recipe calls for a nuttier flavour, white peas is used.

Available throughout the year, they are enjoyed in ragda, ragda pattice, sabji, curry, steamed pea salad, sprouted pea salad etc.
